Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a type of x-ray machine that implements a special type of technology to generate three dimensional images of one’s entire oral anatomy and surrounding structures, or a specific location in detail, within the craniofacial region. This is all captured in a single scan, and allows our team to better evaluate the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals, and nasal cavity, while determining bone structure and tooth orientation. As a result, we are more accurately able to treatment plan cases that may involve placing dental implants, tempromandibular joint disorder, impacted teeth, and more. The increased predictability and visual aid this technology provides leads to the best outcome possible for our patients. Furthermore, the radiation exposure from CBCT is impressively 10 times less than that of a medical CT!
